Dear graduates, apprenticeship signees, families, and friends of Apprenticeship 2000,
Over the past few months we have witnessed historic and unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19
pandemic outbreak. Many of us have been stretched and challenged in ways we thought not possible prior
to the outbreak. We know many of you have been patiently awaiting formal news from us regarding our
decision surrounding our annual graduation and signing ceremony. We, at Apprenticeship 2000, have
been patiently following the local, state, and federal guidelines in the hopes that they would ease
restrictions and we could continue with our planned ceremony on August 5th, 2020.
Unfortunately, due to current restraints of the NC Phase 2 “Safer at Home” policy, larger group gatherings
are still not permitted and it is unclear when the restrictions will ease to plan for such an event. Thus,
based on the current situation and information that is currently available, we have decided to postpone our
graduation and signing ceremony for the time being. Until the NC Phase 3 plan (or other changes) is
enacted that would allow us to proceed are approved, we don’t have a clearer picture on how to either
proceed with a larger group gathering to include everyone or if we must plan a “virtual” graduation
ceremony. We will communicate that decision as soon as possible in the coming weeks based on the NC
policy decisions. The Palmer Building reservation was moved to next years graduation class for 2021. We
will continue to monitor the situation and inform you as soon as we can plan the next steps.
It is with heavy hearts that we had to postpone the currently scheduled graduation and signing ceremony
of our 2020 graduates and newly signed apprentices. However, your health, safety, and well being is of
the upmost importance and at the forefront of our decision.
