Apprenticeship 2000 provides career opportunities to high school students in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. Our program focuses on advanced manufacturing trades.
Formed in 1995, Apprenticeship 2000 is a partnership between manufacturing companies and the local community college. We prepare local youth for technical careers in our own manufacturing facilities in the greater Charlotte, NC region. Our partner companies provide jobs by training apprentices for skilled trades and, in return, gain the skilled workforce needed to operate their high-tech businesses.
At Apprenticeship 2000, we believe in nurturing the potential of high school students and guiding them toward rewarding careers in technical fields.
Today’s high-tech manufacturing companies require a well trained and highly skilled workforce.
Apprenticeship 2000 developed a 4-year technical training program designed to prepare young people for highly skilled technical trades. We train apprentices for advanced mechanical fields such as machinists, tool and die makers, mechatronics technicians, mold makers, and electricians. We work with local high schools’ Career Development Coordinators and CTE counselors to steer highly motivated juniors and seniors with an interest in our technical offerings into a rewarding career path. Students that are accepted into our program train for modern technical careers with excellent pay and fantastic benefits (Health, Dental insurance, Benefit time, Holidays etc.)!
